Course Structure
BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management contains 12 units and will be delivered at the training premises of MIV. Students must complete all the units to obtain this qualification.
Course Outcomes and Overview of the Content Covered in the Course
This course is designed for students who wish to develop specialised knowledge, skills and experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.Students at this level will be able to use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.

Course Delivery and Assessment
This program will be delivered through face-to-face communication with the trainer at MIV campus for a total of 20 hours per week over 78 weeks including term breaks. All delivery will occur in designated classrooms by a qualified trainer who will provide the essential skills and knowledge as per the unit content.
The course assessment is a combination of written questions, case studies, role plays, projects and class presentations. Assessments will take place during class times and by a qualified assessor for each unit after the learning is completed. Although assessments should occur during class times, students also have the option of completing their assessments at home in their own time if they feel comfortable doing so after discussing the assessment requirements with their trainer. Assessments will be used to measure students’ skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and the requirements of the industry.
In order to demonstrate competency in all units required for the successful completion of this course, students must complete all parts of the assessment for each unit to a satisfactory standard. All assessment tasks will be clearly documented and students will be provided support and guidance in completing their qualification.
Duration and Schedule
Nominal duration: 78 weeks
Delivery occurs over a 78 week period (6 terms) with classes scheduled for 20 hours per week for 66 weeks. This equates to a total of 1320 student contact hours for the full qualification.
- Student contact hours = 20hrs per week x 66 weeks = 1320 hours
- Breaks/public holidays = 12 weeks
Schedule:
Classes are scheduled for 20 hours per week over 66 weeks (2 days of 8 hours, 1 day for 4 hours).
The other days of the week may be used for private study time and extra tuition if required.
Entry Requirements
Qualification entry requirements
This qualification has the following entry requirements:
- Student must have successfully completed year 11 and IELTS band score of 5.5 OR already completed year 12 in Australia or hold a 2 year Australian qualification
MIV Admission Requirements
MIV has the following admission requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years
- Demonstrated evidence of English knowledge. Examples include:
- IELTS band score of 5.5 (or equivalent) OR IELTS band score of 5.0 (academic or general version) then satisfactory completion of ELICOS or EAL up to 20 weeks at upper intermediate level
- Pass an internal English Placement Test
- Completed year 11 or above in Australia or hold 2 years Australian qualification
- Completed secondary studies equivalent to an Australian year 11 qualification from an English-language speaking country
- Students must have the ability to attend the scheduled sessions as per the timetable

Tuition fees: 15,000 AUD
Enrolment fee: 250 AUD (non-refundable)
Schedule for Payment of Fees
Study period 1 (Deposit to be paid prior to being issued CoE): 2500 AUD tuition fees and 250 AUD enrolment fee

RPL and Credit Transfer
MIV will offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer to all student at the time of enrolment. RPL enables students who have not undetaken the unit or equivalent, but have the required knowledge and skills, to demonstrate competency for the unit in an assessment only pathway. An RPL kit is available for candidates wishing to apply for RPL and information sessions are available to support the candidates in their application.
AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other RTOs are recognised by MIV.
